Terms of service

AdFirst is a marketplace for advertising on social media pages, channels and accounts. These terms describe how that works and what each side is agreeing to.

What AdFirst does

AdFirst introduces advertisers to the people who run pages and channels, holds the payment while an ad is arranged, and releases it once the advertiser has seen the ad live. AdFirst does not write ads, does not run them, and does not own any of the pages listed in the catalogue.

A placement is an agreement between the advertiser and the owner of that page. AdFirst is not a party to it.

Money

  • Balances are held in US dollars. Deposits and payouts are made in cryptocurrency and converted at the rate at the moment the deposit is claimed, which is shown before you send anything.
  • When you order a placement the amount leaves your balance immediately and is held against that placement. It belongs to neither side until the placement is settled.
  • AdFirst takes 15% of each placement from the publisher’s side. The rate in force when the order is placed is the rate that applies to it, even if it changes later.
  • Payouts carry a fee of 2% with a minimum of $6.00. The minimum payout is $20.00 and the maximum for a single request is $1000.00.
  • Payouts are sent by hand from the platform wallet, usually within one business day. A crypto address cannot be corrected once a payment has been sent — check it.

How a placement is settled

  1. The owner has 48 hours to accept or decline. If they do neither, the order expires and you are refunded in full.
  2. Having accepted, the owner has 72 hours to publish and send the link. If they do not, the order expires and you are refunded in full.
  3. You then have 48 hours to look at the live post and approve it or raise a problem. If you do neither, it approves itself and the owner is paid.

An ad that never ran is always refunded. An ad that ran as agreed is always paid for.

Disputes

If the published post is not what was agreed, reject it with a reason before the review window closes. The payment stays held while AdFirst reads the placement thread and decides. We look at the brief as it stood when the owner accepted — the ad content, the date, the time window and any additional requirements — so anything you want honoured has to be written there and not agreed in passing.

Our decision is final within AdFirst. It does not stop either side pursuing the matter elsewhere.

Listing a page

You may only list a page, channel or account you actually control, and you prove that by publishing a verification code we give you. Audience figures must be real. A listing found to be misrepresenting its audience is removed and its live placements refunded.

Owners choose which ads to run and may decline any request, with a reason, at no cost. Once accepted, an ad has to run as it was given to you — if something needs changing, say so in the thread before you publish.

What is not allowed

  • Ads for anything illegal where they will be seen, including unlicensed financial services, counterfeit goods and controlled substances.
  • Ads that impersonate a real person, brand or institution.
  • Malware, phishing, or links that go somewhere other than they claim.
  • Buying placements on a page you control, or arranging that through another account.
  • Settling outside AdFirst to avoid the commission, having been introduced here.

Accounts that do these things are suspended. Money held against live placements is returned to whoever it belongs to under these terms.

Accounts

One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under yours, so use a password you do not use elsewhere and confirm your email address — a payout cannot be requested until you have.

Changes

These terms change as the marketplace does. Anything already ordered is settled under the rules and rates that applied when it was ordered.

Getting in touch

Questions about a specific placement belong in that placement’s message thread, where support can see the whole exchange. For anything else, see contact.
